A Fair Chance for All: Breaking the cycle of persistent disadvantage
NZHR has made a submission to the Productivity Commission’s “A Fair Chance for All enquiry”. We make the case that those who die prematurely from amenable and non amenable causes are not getting a fair chance to live well to a ripe old age, recommend that greater investment in health and other research should be a strategy for addressing this and other aspects of persistent disadvantage, and commend the Commission on highlighting the importance of consultation (in contrast to NZHR observations and experiences in engaging with both the health sector and the government’s budget setting processes).
